Rurouni Kenshin talks about the "wanderer" Kenshin Himura whom 10 years ago was called a "battousai." Being a manslayer, he killed many lives mercilessly.
After 10 years, he met Kaoru, an assistant instructor of Kamiya Kasshin School. Well, their first meeting was not as sweet as others would expect they want to happen.
The movie mostly followed the story of the anime though there were some revisions. For some instance, They have met Megumi earlier than the anime. The plague happened in the movie while in the anime, Yahiko was the only one got affected by the poison.
The details of the main characters were accurate. Kenshin being a badass and hilarious, Sano having a super strength, Kaoru's tough personality and also her imperfection in cooking, Yahiko being a brat and Megumi being a great doctor and at the same time having an interest on Kenshin. They've also added some comic sides in the movie like Kaoru's failed fried fish which Yahiko really condemned.
I also love the final encounter with Jin'e as Kenshin was trying to save Kaoru to the point of killing his opponent just to remove the curse.
If you're a Samurai X fan, this movie is recommended for you as this will bring back the childhood days where Kenshin was your hero despite of his past that he wanted to avoid and start a new life with his new friends and family.
I guarantee you'll love this film. :D
